I made this!
Finally, I actually get to say this after waiting for it to be publicly announced: Here is a video on Harry Potter – The Half Blood Prince Potions game which I was primary working on during development of the game, enjoy!
Blog update
Its been quite a while since I last wrote here mainly because I been stupidly busy between work and property hunting. The good news is that I have found a property that both my parents and I like a lot and currently in the middle of all the legal paperwork and processes involved. I can now appreciate why house buying can take such a long time and understand why people say it is one of the most stressful things you can do in your life.
At work, as most of you probably know that the Harry Potter game and film have been delayed till next year which was a bit of a shock to the team.
Finally, the Open Pandora handheld pre-order date (30th September) is literally just round the corner. Personally, I am very excited by the handheld and already put money aside a long time ago to buy it and will be pre-ordering myself and look forward to developing for it (as soon as I get some ideas for games).
Half Blood Prince press release
Pretty much the biggest reason why I haven’t been posting on here much over the past month is that I was working towards the demo that was shown to the press a couple of days ago
. You can read the story here.
In addition, I have preparing for a presentation for the GamesEdu this Tuesday in Manchester about how I got into the games industry and needless to say, I am pretty nervous and excited by it at the same time. This will be the first time I have ever done something like this before and I hope that I don’t screw this up :p.
Harry Potter – Half Blood Prince finished
I finally manage to get round to finishing the 6th book in the series. I haven’t read any fiction for at least 5 years but felt it was neccesary to at least know the story of the project that I am currently working on
. Despite not actually being a HP fan, I am extremely curious in how the last book pans out. While I know who dies, I am far more interested in how and why. I have to leave a mental note to borrow the book off a colleuge.
Hopefully tomorrow I get some time to spend on development. With the news and buzz about the new handheld mentioned a few days ago, I really would like to get something ready for launch. Problem is that I am rather short of ideas that needed minimal assets. I will be shifting through 300 game mechanics site for some inspiration though and hopefully something will crop up. Making the framework without a game is no fun
