I made this!

Finally, I actually get to say this after waiting for it to be publicly announced: Here is a video on Harry Potter – The Half Blood Prince Potions game which I was primary working on during development of the game, enjoy!

Quick fire update

Finally got the keys to the house mentioned earlier (took long enough) and it is a little smaller then I last remembered but I finally have my own place . I haven’t yet settled in due to a complete lack of furniture which is next on my agenda list. Later in the year, I am planning to put some effort and money towards fixing up the place.

Work is going pretty well despite all the doom and gloom with recent layoffs and studio closures. Currently working on frontend for a handheld platform which is a change of pace for me.

Still eagerly waiting for the Open Pandora and now a Streetfighter IV Fightstick which I can’t seem to preorder .

Not much beyond this I guess. Oh, I do have a personal project in the works but not yet ready to be mentioned yet.

Every cloud has a silver lining?

Things have been pretty hectic over the last few weeks especially due to EA’s recent workforce cut which has affected a lot of my friends and colleagues that I have worked with and learned from in my time here. The main problem is that you feel really powerless as you can’t do much beyond share contacts in the industry to help them get back into work again.

On the bright side, I accidentally been sent Wind and Water for the Dreamcast from RedSpotGames that I attempted to cancel and therefore not paid for but have been allowed to keep due to misunderstanding! You honestly cannot get better then that so two thumbs up for them. However, I feel a little for them since they are out of pocket so time for a bit of free advertising:

Half Blood Prince press release

Pretty much the biggest reason why I haven’t been posting on here much over the past month is that I was working towards the demo that was shown to the press a couple of days ago . You can read the story here.

In addition, I have preparing for a presentation for the GamesEdu this Tuesday in Manchester about how I got into the games industry and needless to say, I am pretty nervous and excited by it at the same time. This will be the first time I have ever done something like this before and I hope that I don’t screw this up :p.

Not exactly my best week…

I really felt that I haven’t made any progress this week at work and have been just spinning my wheels. My ‘done’ pile of sticky notes says different but I do feel that I didn’t get much visible return because a lot of it was under the hood. For next week, I really need to get my ass in gear and make some headway.

Also I started to look at some properties to buy and after looking at what I can afford, I could be looking for a while. I have found some that perked my interest and are within my price range but the forthcoming house market crash supposedly coming soon, I have really am not sure if I should buy now or wait it out.

In addition to all this, I am also feeling a little bummed as some of my oldest friends returned to Hong Kong recently and already I miss them and the time we used to spend with each other. I was never a big fan of change and this kind of thing reminds me why.

A bit of a depressing post but things can only get better, right?
