Review of my Portfolio
A few weeks ago, Lee Winder asked if he could use my site for review in his current series The Elusive Demo Portfolio to which I agreeed to and here is the result. Happy reading!
I also got hold of a copy of C++ for Game Programmers Second Edition after reading the First Edition and wanting my own personal reference. The first edition was an excellent read and covers a lot of areas not found in standard C++ books. I am hoping the Second Edition adds to this.
Some interesting learning material
I just managed to start reading ‘Essential Mathematics for Games‘ and finished the Core Mathematics section and I would recommend it to anyone. It is extremely comprehensive but is written in a way that programmers would understand it rather then mathematicians. However, it is still quite advanced so have your math hat on when you do read through it.
Reading Edge Magazine this month, I came by an advertisement for a Games Programming course in Derby. The interesting thing about it is that the course, although Undergraduate, only takes ~50 students which I think is great. It gives a much focused student body to teach to and given the facilities that are their disposal, it looks like they are going to churn out some impressive graduates.
